Salzburg: Day 3

Since our third day in Salzburg was a Sunday, we really wanted to just spend sometime outdoors, relax around the apartment and watch conference later on that evening.

Well, we woke up to rain that kinda ruined our plans. We still wanted to get out of the house though, I had read of a little resort community about 30 minutes from Salzburg called Fuschl am See. It is a little lake resort and I had read that there was a walking path all the way around it with amazing views, especially in Autumn. Since it wasn't raining too terribly bad in Salzburg we thought we would be okay, but the closer and closer we got the lake, the harder and harder it started to rain. Well, more like torrential downpour. Oh, I forgot to mention that Brad decided that he was going to jump in the lake while we were there. Apparently it's a common practice in Idaho...he wanted to relive some of his youth. Crazy boy! Especially since it was pouring rain.

Anyway, we got to the lake, found a place to park and if it hadn't been cloudy, foggy, raining and freezing cold ... I am certain Fuschl am See is a gorgeous little town. It is the type of town that you would go to for a quiet lunch with the love of your life and then walk around the lake holding hands. Silly rain ... ruined all our plans!

We really were drenched ... we might as well have jumped in the lake with Brad since our umbrellas did zero good.

I married such a spontaneous, fun, carefree man. And I love that about him ... he is especially stubborn since neither Kason nor I thought he was really going to jump in the lake with the weather the way it was but ... he did it, just to prove his point. Most times, I love how stubborn he is, too. {Unless of course I am the one trying to prove the point.}

I loved the little ducks still trying to swim in the crazy water. Not sure if they knew it or not, but it's a lot dryer and calmer on shore.

After Brad's bath and mine and Kason's showers ... we blasted the heater in our car and headed back to the apartment, ate junk food, took naps, watched conference and cooked up some chili. Our Sunday was spent exactly how they're meant to be spent. :)

{ps: here's a video. it's kind of for my own memory and enjoyment since it might be slightly anti-climatic. i do love kason's giggle in the background though.}
