Praha: Day 3

Our last day there, we had practically seen everything we wanted to so, we just wandered the streets in search of a perfect souvenir. I really wanted a painting of Prague. They were everywhere but, I wanted to find one that really spoke to me. So, we just kept walking and looking.

So, don't judge me for posting this picture but, it's just another "welcome to Europe" moment. We saw this guy sitting behind the statue, shooting up with drugs. You would never see something like this in the mainstream area of a city in the states (only in the ghetto) and the Polizei were just across the street, like it wasn't a big deal. The lifestyle is SO different here!

Well ... "Good luck with that stuff, buddy!"

This building is called 'The Dancing House'. Completely different structure than the rest of Prague.

We came across this huge park that had some beautiful views and some creepy baby statues ...

This is at the base of Lesser Town, just underneath Charles Bridge. We finally found a picture I love in Lesser Town. It was perfect. Now, the job of finding the perfect frame for it.

The "guards" of the city.

Marionettes are very popular in Prague as well ... but, I couldn't justify paying $50 for a puppet that would just sit on the shelf. They were all so well handcrafted and adorable though ... I loved them! The marionette shops are some of my favorite shops we went in.

We also found the American Embassy. That flag was a welcome sight. We knocked ... but nobody answered.

Prague is also famous for their 'fried cheese' ... I believe it's called Smazak. They basically are big mozzarella sticks. They served them with tartar sauce and they were actually pretty delicious!

There are also these spa wafers. We searched forever to find them and finally found them in a market in Lesser Town. They're hard to describe but, we got the chocolate kind and the original kind. The chocolate was like a wafers sandwich with chocolate in between each wafer and the original were just a thin, round wafer flavored like hazelnut. They were well worth the efforts to track them down and they didn't last long in our house ...

chocolate ...

hazelnut ...

Prague was beautiful. I loved it and I love that it's only 2 hours from us so we can easily make trips back often if we want. It's a city that must be visited if you ever make your way to Europe!!
